Terms and Conditions
1)The Parties:
a)YourLocalPages is a directory of UK businesses, run by Indicium
Web Design. Throughout these terms and conditions, YourLocalPages
and Indicium Web Design are collectively and severably referred
to herein as YLP.
b)The businesses advertised in YLP fall into two categories:
those included as initial data, which have been added based on
research undertaken prelaunch by YLP, and those submitted by
representatives of the listed businesses. Those businesses
included as part of the initial data and not subsequently
upgraded by a representative of the business are referred to
herein as Initial Data. Those business subsequently added or
upgraded by representatives of the business are referred to
herein as Advertisers.
c)The directory is for the use of the general public. The
intended users of the site are UK or EU residents, although the
YLP will not normally prevent any user worldwide from normal
access to the search or browseable directory. The group of people
using the website to browse or search business are referred to
herein as Users.
2)The Agreements
a)By undertaking any submission to YLP for upgrade or listing
Advertisers agree that
i)All information they provide is their own intellectual property
ii)All information provided is factually accurate
iii)No information provided is slanderous or libellous
iv)No information or imagery will be submitted that is illegal or
unsuitable for viewing by children.
v)Fees charged at time of submission are for non-refundable and
are for review only. No inclusion in YLP is guaranteed.
vi)Inclusion is for 12 months, after which an Advertiser can
apply for renewal, at which point another review fee will be
charged.
vii)The normal place of business for Advertisers is in the UK,
and a UK business address is available.
b)By their usage of this site for any purpose, Users agree that:
i)Users will not undertake any attempt to hack, or otherwise
unlawfully obtain access to any part of the website not publicly
available. Sections of the site not publicly available include
any part which requires use of a password to enter normally.
ii)Users will not undertake any denial of service attack, or bulk
data gathering, either using automatic methods such as software
robots or offline browsers, or by manual data gathering.
iii)Users will not use YLP as a source material for email or
telephone marketing lists
3)The Facilities
a)YLP will provide a searchable and browseable directory of UK
businesses. The advertisements for businesses listed fall into
three categories: Initial Data, which is limited to business name
and address, Standard Listings, which also supply web address and
telephone number, and Premium Listings, which provide a business
profile, logo and other information.
i)Initial Data is based on research undertaken by YLP, and no
guarantee can be implied about its accuracy, although YLP have
taken all reasonable steps to ensure that it is so.
ii)Standard Listing information is supplied by the Advertiser,
and is reviewed by YLP.
iii)Premium Listing information is supplied by the Advertiser,
and is reviewed by YLP. Premium Listings are given preference in
search results and in browseable business categories.
b)The search algorithms used by YLP are the intellectual property
of Indicium Web Design, and will not be divulged to any
Advertiser or User under any circumstances.
4)Fees
a)The fees charged by YLP are for review, and do not guarantee
inclusion in the directory.
b)The fees are:
i)For a Standard Listing, either:
a.£10 (inc. VAT), or
b.A link to either the home page or the relevant category page on
YLP. Such a link must be permanent, and may not prevent search
engine indexing by any technique including, but not limited to,
use of JavaScript, use of the rel=nofollow attribute, use of
robots Meta tag.
ii)For a Premium Listing:
a.£50 (inc. VAT)
5)Private Data
a)Advertisers are provided with a username and password and agree
not to divulge these to any third party. Additionally,
Advertisers are responsible for the security of their username
and password.
b)Private data stored by YLP is for the purposes of the running
of the YLP directory and will not be used for any other purpose,
including, but not limited to, email or telephone marketing, sale
to third parties.
c)YLP stores a selection of cookies on the User's computer. Such
cookies are for remembering User data such as PostCode in order
to provide a more user friendly user experience. No financial or
other security conscious data will ever be stored in a cookie by
YLP.
