Burnley and Nelson almost dovetail into each other and are both located in Lancashire. Burnley is a large market-related town in the north-west of England, it is more dominating than Nelson with a population of around 90,000 people and nelson with a smaller population of 29,000 people, Burnley's main economy is built on coal mining, cotton and other textiles. It has a notable night-life with many clubs that range in music tastes and styles the main two clubs are Lava and Ignite, Lava being over 25's and Ignite for 18+ Burnley is also home to one of the largest blues festivals in the United Kingdom namely the 'Burnley National Blues Festival' (You would never guess).
Nelson was originally two villages that shared the same basic name Little Marsden and Great Marsden but they where joined when the Railways where coming into view and was interestingly given the name Nelson after a pub called the Admiral Lord Nelson Inn in Great Marsden. Originally an industrial based town which was mainly based on the cotton weaving trade but has since declined which has hurt employment in the area.
