Edinburgh is the Capital city of Scotland. It is famous for its annual International Festival, as well as its rich, diverse and sometimes dark history.
There is some dispute over the origins of the name Edinburgh. The most popular theory is that it is derived from the ancient name of "Dun Edin", but other suggestions include such things as historical references to "Edwyn's Borourgh" in the late Dark Ages.
Much of Edinburgh's economy is focused on administrative and service industries, including a very strong finance sector.
